Routine reading

I had my students read this following passage as a warm-up.  Then, they drew pictures of each scene.  They also had to include the time in sentences that talked about a time.  I try to recycle older content within my stories, so I included some foods that they may not remember and the time.  It took them awhile to understand that “she does everything backwards,” but I think they enjoyed the novelty of the story.  I am including a copy of the story along with the instructions for the drawing.  I had 12 boxes for them to draw under the instructions.  Here is the paragraph:

Mi hermana hace cosas muy interesantes.  Hace todo al revés (backward).  Ella se acuesta a las seis de la mañana y se duerme a las seis y cuarto.  Se despierta a las tres de la tarde.  Se levanta a las tres y cuarto.  Después se pone los pijamas y se cepilla el pelo y los dientes.  Desayuna a las cuatro.  Come los mariscos para el desayuno.  Después del desayuno, se ducha.  Finalmente ella estudia a las cinco.  Habla por teléfono con sus amigos.  Se divierte mucho con ellos.  Cena a las cuatro de la mañana.  Come los huevos y los panqueques y bebe un café.  ¡Qué raro!
