Tech Tip: ShoutKey

One of my colleagues Stacey always has the best tech tools!  I can say that I want to find an app that will do 80 things, and she probably has heard of one that will do the trick.  She had a tech workshop for the Upper School on Friday that was amazing.  One little trick that she mentioned was using the product ShoutKey.  This app is good to use if you are in a 1:1 class and have a long URL.  Many times if I put the website on my website, the students had a hard time finding it.

Once you are at the homepage, you paste your URL code.  You decide how long it will last.  Although you could try 5 minutes, I would use 30 minutes in case someone enters late or someone has a slower computer.

Shout Key: Put in URL

You verify that you are not a robot.  (I had to pick out oranges in pictures.)  After this, you will get a unique URL that will last for the set time.  Screen Shot 2015-09-07 at 3.17.36 PM

All students would enter and it would take them directly to my website!  (Although don’t try it because it has already expired!) This would be great for authentic resources in particular that have very long URLs.
