Follow up song activities

I was reading about warmers on Busy Teacher, and I was inspired for an after song activity.  Students can use the lyrics to create something new: a poem, a story, an interview etc.  You can give students a list of words from the song, or they can choose their own.  I would at least give students the minimal number of words to use.

After listening to the song two or three times, I always have students watch the music video.  However, next time, I am going to pause and have students take a minute to either draw a scene from what they think the music video will be or a couple of frames from the video.  This will also keep them even more engaged during the video.
