We all must email parents from time to time when a student is struggling in our class for one reason or another. However, how much do you email parents when students are doing an outstanding job? They may be more attentive in class, or they have started to complete their homework more consistently. Many times, students are always willing to help another classmate when he or she struggles. I think that it is so easy to focus on the harder aspects of our class that we forget the sweet and meaningful parts. Whenever I send out the emails about students who are having difficulties, I make sure to include at least 2 emails to parents that are positive. It really doesn’t take that much time, and students and parents appreciate it so much.
